40 Years of History

Our history

From what started as just a few bungalows in Sussex, Brainkind has grown to become the largest not-for-profit charity for acquired brain injuries in the UK. Their efforts over the past 40 years have not only changed lives, but also the way society views brain injuries.

Equality and Diversity

Integrating equality, diversity, and inclusion, Brainkind is a member of the Employers Network for Equality and Inclusion (ENEI), the UK’s leading employer network covering equality and inclusion in the workplace.

We have used their Talent Inclusion and Diversity Evaluation (TIDE) tool to assess our performance as an organisation in this area. This has allowed us to develop a detailed action plan to target areas for improvement.

The Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI) committee at Brainkind organises listening forums to understand the needs and concerns of staff in this area.

They look at ways we can better support them regarding equality, diversity, and inclusion.
