Service users from The Woodmill have enjoyed at Haldon Forest, near Exeter. Led by Mike Holder, Physiotherapy Assistant and Health & Fitness Co-ordinator, the group embarked on the ‘Discovery Trail’ to experience and explore the views, sights, sounds and smells of the forest.
The trail is accessible to people with disabilities and wheelchair users, so presents an ideal opportunity for service users to get out in the great outdoors. As well as being a new experience and pleasurable activity for service users, the Haldon Forest day enabled service users to use and develop skills they have learned during their rehabilitation eg mobility, social skills and money management.
Everyone enjoyed the day, and especially the good weather!
