Redhill Road is a transitional living service developed by the team at West Heath House, in response to demand by commissioners and family members. With 24 hour support from a specially trained Rehabilitation Support Worker team and input from the interdisciplinary team at West Heath House, the service offers individuals the opportunity to practice and develop their independent living and social skills prior to their return to an environment with less support (home or one of the Brain Injury Rehabilitation Trust’s (BIRT) community houses).

Located less than five minutes walk from West Heath House, Redhill Road is a modern semi-detached house for two service users. The house feels light and airy and includes a kitchen, combined lounge and dining room, with patio doors leading to a rear garden with paved area and lawn. The bathroom and two bedrooms are upstairs.

Situated in a popular residential area in Northfield, Redhill Road has easy access to a range of community facilities. These include shops, a park, a library, post office, railway station and a very good local bus service making it ideal for service users who want to develop independent living skills.

As part of active rehabilitation, BIRT delivers rehabilitation services in houses and bungalows located close to its main rehabilitation centres. Service users are therefore able to receive continued support from the clinical team who are familiar with their needs
