York House would like to invite you to our Nurse Enlightenment Seminar to be held here, at York on 6th March 2015. The day will give nurses qualified, and soon to be qualified, an opportunity to learn about brain injury within a hospital setting and an insight to working with acquired mental health issues. A light lunch will be served.

York House is a specialist 38 bedded brain injury rehabilitation hospital that provides support for adults with an acquired brain injury (ABI) and specialises in neurobehavioural assessment and post-acute rehabilitation for people with a non-progressive acquired brain injury.

There are three types of service at York House and this enables us to offer a continuum of care to meet the challenging needs of service users as they progress though their rehabilitation and accommodate those with longer term needs.

Our speakers will include members of our multi-disciplinary team such as Miles Rogish, our clinical neuro-psychologist. Miles has worked for the Brain Injury Rehabilitation Trust (BIRT) since 2003. He trained and worked at the University of Florida and has also worked for the University of Hull as a Clinical Tutor in the Department of Clinical Psychology and Psychological Therapies. His research interests include traumatic brain injury, neurobehavioral rehabilitation, and the impact of neurological disability on family systems functioning. His presentation "working with emotions in a challenging behaviour environment" will be of interest to many.

We will also have presentations from key members of our management team, both senior nurses with expertise in their field who will talk about achievements and outcomes within the brain injury setting.

The seminar is a half day presentation finishing with a tour of York House so you can see first-hand the work we do and have the opportunity to talk to staff and service users.

You will also be able to liaise with our HR department regarding employment opportunities permanent and casual, full and part time.

As spaces are limited and may be sought after so please let us know as soon as possible if you wish to attend so we can secure you a place.
