Staff and service users from The Brain injury Rehabilitation Trust (BIRT) service York House this week celebrated the opening of a new activity room.

The Rosedale Room was made possible by a generous bequest from the family of a gentleman who had spent some time at York House. The refurbishment has seen the old activity room transformed into a multi-use space for service users to meet, relax and take part in therapy sessions.

The Rosedale room now boasts new flooring, gym equipment, storage and furniture as well as a large TV, games and crafting supplies.

Jess May, Therapy Assistant said “The new Rosedale Room has given us a much-needed additional area where we can do activities with the people who we support. It's great to have a room put aside as a chill out, arts and crafts and therapy space. The room looks out over the gardens and has been received with enthusiasm by staff and service users”.
