Friends of The Disabilities Trust
To mark the 30th anniversary of The Disabilities Trust, we are inaugurating
the Friends of The Disabilities Trust to say thank you to those who have supported
the Trust over the years.
The Friends have supported the Trust in many ways: Bruce Forsyth,
Jimmy and Bryony Hill and Jimmy Tarbuck have hosted our golf days; Jane Asher is very involved at Heathermount, our specialist school for children and young adults with autism; Kevin Whately presented a BBC Radio 4 Appeal raising an
excellent £4,536; Lord Clement-Jones has hosted parliamentary events on behalf of the Trust; MPs Dr Phylis Starkey, Nigel Waterson and Ian Cawsey
have all been hugely supportive of services in their constituencies and Harry
Judd took to the streets of London to run the Flora London Marathon, raising
£21,000!
We look forward to the continued support of the Friends throughout our 30th
anniversary year.
We have had an excellent start: Escala performed at the launch of our 30th
anniversary photographic exhibition in February, and Gabby and Kenny Logan hosted our golf day on 4th June.
Many thanks to the Friends for their support; their actions and
words of support really do add value to our perception and the vital work we
do.
