On 27th May, Edward Dodson ran the Edinburgh Marathon raising over £8,000 for The Disabilities Trust.

Edward would like the funds to be spent on new facilities and equipment for the service users at the Brain Injury Rehabilitation Trust (BIRT) Centre Fen House in Ely. Edward is running for the Trust as his father Chris Dodson had a stroke in June 2015 and after stays in various hospitals and care homes he was referred to Fen House in November 2015 for rehabilitation and care.

Edward said it was : “A fantastic experience despite it being too warm and a head wind for the last 8 miles. Edinburgh is a truly lovely place to run, fantastic views of Arthur’s seat and 21 miles of East Lothian coastline. The people of Edinburgh cheered us on from Mile 1 and the atmosphere at the finish was unforgettable!

Huge congratulations Edward for your motivation and hard work in training for the marathon and collecting the donations that you have. This will help to enhance the facilities and treatment for people living at Fen House.

Edward is still taking donations. If you would like to support him please visit his Just Giving page.
