A runner running for The Disabilities Trust

Euan Casey, an old family friend of the Thatcher family, completed the Manchester marathon on the 10th April raising over £700 for the Huw Thatcher Trust. Euan completed the marathon in an impressive 3 hours and 55 minutes which was even more impressive as he was carrying a late injury.

Euan said “It was a very tough slog but was great to help the Brain Injury Rehabilitation Trust (BIRT) carry on their fantastic work. I finished in a respectable 3 hours 55 minutes and even though the legs were killing it was great to finish it. Thank you to everyone who donated very generously, raising over £700 for the Huw Thatcher Trust, a very worthwhile cause”.

Founder of the Huw Thatcher Trust Nic Thatcher said “Thanks to Euan’s efforts, plus cake sales at my work and a number of other kind donations we have raised more than £1,100 since Christmas, and we are very grateful for this generosity and commitment”.

Helen Tridgell Head of Marketing & Fundraising said: “On behalf of BIRT I would like to thank you and everyone who sponsored you. Funds from the Huw Thatcher Trust are being put to excellent use; recently funding state of the art physiotherapy equipment which will be life changing for the people we support at Daniel Yorath House in Garforth”.
