Service Users and staff at Shinewater Court in Eastbourne were delighted to receive a painting donated by the artist Alex Roch to mark Sue Akester’s retirement from the Board of Trustees of The Disabilities Trust.

Sue had served as a Trustee for 18 years and we are very grateful for her time and dedication to The Trust during this time.

Sue chose to donate the painting to Shinewater Court to reflect her gratitude to Vic and Ann Hancox who are both Trustees and are also flat owners and service users at Shinewater Court.

Irene Sobowale, Finance Director and CEO designateattended the unveiling and enjoyed catching up with the service users.

The sunflowers in the painting represent life, hope and nourishment which we think is a wonderful message to pass to service users, staff and visitors at Shinewater.

After the picture unveiling, Shinewater Court provided afternoon tea, which included a beautifully decorated cake arranged by Service Manager Rosemary Milmine.
