In the Trust

Graham Anderson House was visited last week by Scottish Minister for Sport, Health Improvement and Mental Health Jamie Hepburn MSP. The Minister was very impressed by the facilities at the independent hospital in Glasgow. He was also greatly interested in the work of the Brain Injury Rehabilitation Trust around concussion, as well as research carried out by the Foundationinto the links between brain injury, homelessness and offending behaviour. This visit marks the first time a Member of the Scottish Parliament has visited a Disabilities Trust service.

The Trust submitted written evidence to the Health Select Committee’s enquiry into the impact of the Comprehensive Spending Review on health and social care. The Trust’s position is that that the CSR was a missed opportunity that did not demonstrate a nuanced understanding of the impact on needs of people with disabilities, their families or the organisations which provide their care and support.

This is the first time the Trust has submitted evidence to a Select Committee enquiry. A number of organisations will be invited to present oral evidence later in 2016. Copies of the Trust’s submitted evidence are available on request.
