On Friday 14th July the Brain Injury Rehabilitation Trust (BIRT) centres: Bristol Road and West Heath House, presented a free educational seminar at The Bromsgrove Hotel and Spa in Birmingham, called ‘Finding neuro: exploring hidden disability’. The event was hugely popular and sold out well in advance, with more than 60 delegates attending.

BIRT received extremely positive feedback about the seminar: “Really powerful to hear information in the context of people’s own stories!” said one attendee, “Fantastic! Engaging! Learnt a great deal!” said another.

The presentations included case studies, presented by members of the West Heath House interdisciplinary team entitled ‘Escaping the maze’ and ‘Developing awareness… tougher than expected’, as well as ‘The model explained’, presented by Dr Ivan Pitman, Consultant Clinical Neuropsychologist. The practical application was evident in the feedback received too: “(The) information provided enabled reflection on own clinical interventions / work with patients”.

Sponsored by Anthony Collins Solicitors, this event was attended by more than 60 health and social care professionals working in the field of brain injury. Ann Houghton and Charlotte Measures from Anthony Collins Solicitors gave a useful insight into the topic of capacity within the litigation process.
