Welcome to Osman House
Osman House is designed to smooth the transition between brain injury rehabilitation at a main Brain Injury Rehabilitation Trust (BIRT) centre or similar environment and a move into the community. It provides specialist care and support in a smaller residential environment for adults with an acquired brain injury (ABI). It also offers a continuing rehabilitation service. Osman House aims to provide cost effective placements, still enabling individuals to access higher levels of support from a specialist provider.
Neurobehavioral approach to rehabilitation
Men and women coming to Osman House are likely have completed an initial programme of rehabilitation, perhaps with the NHS or at another BIRT service or brain injury provider. Our specialist care and support service, and continuing rehabilitation service incorporate an individually tailored programme for all service users. We aim to support service users to maintain rehabilitation goals previously achieved, and use the neurobehavioural approach in our work.
Service users programmes include educational and therapeutic sessions, personal, social and domestic skills, guided leisure time, behavioural management, community access and vocational training and support. Service users are actively involved in reviewing their progress against agreed outcomes.
