On the 5th September 2015 the annual Bridport Hat Festival was held in support of the Brain Injury Rehabilitation Trust (BIRT) service The Woodmill and Brain Tumour Research, both chosen as the charities of the festival. The Woodmill Service Manager; Emma Clarke, and Business Administrator; Serena Dyer, both attended the festival representing the service.
Emma and Serena joined in with the festival goers by operating a stall, promoting the great work and achievements of the service users from The Woodmill. There were superb live music acts at the festival plus some local trade stalls, food and drink and numerous quirky hat competitions.
Serena spoke of the day saying: “We spent an amazing day amongst hat wearing attendees of the Bridport Hat Festival. We are so pleased that we are able to benefit from this amazing weekend. Almost everyone comes in a hat, some more quirky than others and many hand made. Emma got the opportunity to address the crowds and speak on live radio to let them know more about BIRT and how much we appreciate the Hat Festival for their support.”
