The team at Tŷ Aberdafen is delighted to welcome their new Occupational Therapist, Gemma Lerwell, who has practiced in the NHS and independent practice since qualifying in 2006 and has gained valuable knowledge and experience in a number of specialties and community settings.
‘Gemma is a dedicated and enthusiastic Occupational Therapist and is passionate about the profession and the role of occupational therapy in maximising independence,’ said Dr Tracey Ryan-Morgan, Consultant Clinical Neuropsychologist at Tŷ Aberdafen. ‘With a friendly and approachable nature Gemma has a proven ability to build trust and rapport with service users, their families and with professional colleagues.’
Gemma is an effective communicator, has a high level of experience providing effective goal-oriented therapy planning and interventions and is a skilled proponent and advocate of goal-oriented therapy planning and intervention.
Gemma has practiced stroke rehabilitation, neurorehabilitation and care of the elderly before joining the team at Tŷ Aberdafen in July 2015.
Gemma is a member of the College of Occupational Therapy Specialist Section in neurological practice, is registered with the Health Professions Council and is a member of the British Association of Occupational Therapy and COTSS in neurological practice.
