More than 40 people attended ‘Fatigue Management after Brain Injury’, a free educational seminar hosted by Tŷ Aberdafen at the National Botanic Garden of Wales, Llanarthne.
Sponsored by Red Kite Law, the seminar was attended by professionals working in health and social care including Occupational Therapists, Case Managers, Specialist Nurses, Speech and Language Therapists, personal injury lawyers as well as representatives from health boards and local authorities.
Dr Tracey Ryan-Morgan, Consultant Clinical Neuropsychologist at Ty Aberdafen introduced the seminar and gave an overview of fatigue management. Dr Ryan-Morgan said, ‘The seminar was a great success, and we are pleased to have been able to share our practice with so many different professionals found the information helpful to their work.’
The seminar included two case presentations on the assessment and management of fatigue, by Louise Steer, Specialist Speech and Language Therapist, and Georgina James, Specialist Physiotherapist, respectively. Dr Irina Lapadatu, Clinical Psychologist, addressed whether fatigue management is clinically crucial, and closing remarks were made by Rebecca Proctor, Partner at Red Kite Law, sponsors of the seminar.
The seminar received very positive feedback, with 91% of delegates saying they found it excellent or very good. Feedback included the comments‘Excellent, well put together and presented,’ ‘very informative,’ and ‘very interesting for future practice.’
