Management and staff were very pleased to hear that they had, again, been judged to be ‘Good’ by CQC inspectors. They received this grade in all the categories assessed; safe, effective, caring, responsive and well-led.
Service users were asked their opinions of the standard of support and there were many positive responses including “I have had massive improvements in my ability to walk around alone with no aid (due to) physio sessions, also my coordination has improved a lot.” Any issues were addressed, people were listened to and situations were resolved wherever possible.
Relatives too were very happy: “My family and I would like to thank you all for the care, consideration and dedication to [named person] during the last year.”
Service Manager, Roxanne Rolland, was delighted with the achievement: “We set ourselves very high standards at BIRT and we have all worked very hard to make sure that our standard of support is as high as it can be. We need to make sure that people are safe whilst still encouraging them to be as independent as possible. Having family compliments is also wonderful as you always want the best for your loved ones.”
