Although it feels like only yesterday that London Marathon 2018 took place, preparation is well underway for 2019.

The Disabilities Trust, providing specialist community-based and residential support for adults with acquired brain injury, complex physical or learning disabilities and for people with autism, including education, already have two women signed up who are mentally and physically preparing for the challenge ahead.

Holly and Jen are occupational therapists who work for Enable Therapy Services in Leeds.

Jen claims to be an unfit, busy mother, whose most recent venture was couch to 5k last year.

Holly turned 30 last year and it made her re-evaluate with a time of reflection.

Both met Hayley Wicker-Bradbury at Enable Therapies 10-year celebration where The Disabilities Trust was one of the chosen charities and the rest they say, is history!

Hayley said: “It never ceases to amaze me the effort that people put in to support the charity. We are always so proud of the runners who take part and for the awareness they raise. The London Marathon is one of the toughest and most prestigious marathons you can be part of, I know both Holly and Jen will put in every effort to train and I wish them the very best of luck. Support such as this is vital to enhancing the lives of men and women in our services”.
