Service users and staff from Victoria House recently attended the Wheelchair Sport Awards at the KC Stadium in Hull. Over 200 people turned out to celebrate and acknowledge the achievements of those involved in disability sport. Activities co-ordinator, Angie Hardie said:

We all had such a fantastic evening and the Electric Eels Team was thrilled to win the Best Team Award. We are looking forward to attending the event again next year.

Hull is one of only three cities in the UK which holds its own Disability Sports Awards to celebrate the achievements of disabled sports athletes. Simon Pooley and Scott Walker, who are from Victoria House, are members of Electric Eels, a wheelchair football team and were absolutely delighted to receive the Best Team Award.

Each award was sponsored by a local business and guests enjoyed raffles and auctions which raised money for a number local sports teams.
