Staff and service users have been getting green fingered this week at Tŷ Aberdafen. John, Gareth and Michael have been doing some gardening in the main garden while enjoying the sunshine, and Christian and RSW, Kez, tackled the weeds in the raised beds. They’ve also planted some salad peppers which have just started to sprout. Also the volunteer group from the Centre for Business and Social Action (CBSA), who usually do the services’ dog therapy, will be visiting to help with replanting the raised bed. Also the children, that CBSA help to support, are making some garden items such as bird boxes, to donate to Tŷ Aberdafen.

In other news, Anna, who loves being pampered, had a lovely treat on Friday 8th June.

A mobile Beauty Therapist came to the unit and gave Anna a full manicure. She picked a lovely deep red colour and thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience. The staff at Tŷ Aberdafen usually ensure that Anna is fully indulged, but she is still hoping that the Beauty Therapist comes to visit again soon.

Also, Fiona Cull, Activities Coordinator, and therapy assistant Gary since May have been running a mindful photography group every Monday afternoon, whereby Service users go out and about, recently we have been to the beach and Park Howard. Each week has a different theme such as change or simple and each service user takes a photo of how they want to represent that theme.
