Should you require any further information on any of the topics discussed please don’t hesitate to contact the Communications Team on 01444 237 279 or Email CSSCommunications@thedtgroup.org
Here you can find more specific information about: Concussion, the Brain injury needs indicator (BINI), our BIRT guide to living - for adults with a brain injury, our Show your brain some love awareness campaign, as well as a Tips and tricks series of booklets and further information.
Concussion can be difficult to diagnose and is not always obvious. We want to ensure a better prognosis for people (including rugby and football players) who sustain these injuries, and to highlight the role that friends and family can play in identifying concussion symptoms. With this in mind the Trust has also offered its neurobehavioural expertise to both the Rugby Football Union and the Football Association.
The Brain injury needs indicator (BINI)
The Brain injury needs indicator (BINI) is a free tool we have developed to assist with identifying the deficits of people with a suspected or diagnosed acquired brain injury.
This tool has been developed at the request of the Department of Health for use by social workers and professionals during adult social care assessments. You can find out more about the BINI through this short video:
Our Show your brain some love awareness campaign is an opportunity to show ways of helping to prevent brain injury through six top tips through our character called 'Birt'. It has become an ongoing awareness campaign for the Trust. For more information on how to "Show your brain some love"
