A message from Irene Sobowale our Chief Executive
We celebrate our people every day at the Disabilities Trust - and recognise the dedication, commitment, and the heart, they put into delivering our services. Yesterday gave even more of a focus to this. The ‘Clap for Carers’ event gave us a great opportunity to thank all those ensuring that we continue to provide excellent care to people with brain injury, autism and physical disabilities, and help them to live their best lives, against such a challenging backdrop.
I was among thousands of Britons who took to their doorsteps and balconies last night to thank all those on the frontline of delivering care, and fighting coronavirus. With every clap, I was showing my solidarity with those who working hard to keep people safe, deliver excellent services and connect the people in our care with their families.
Our service users were also joining in the applause, as well as their families, and the communities they live in. It was great to see people come together in times that feel defined by distance. By working together we can make sure they are also defined by the heart we put into all that we do.
We are one team and by working together we will beat this virus and get through this. ❤️
