Channel 4 News recently visited the Brain Injury Rehabilitation Trust (BIRT) centre at West Heath House to film Lisa, the mother of one of our service users, talking about the experience that she and her daughter, Sophie, went through with regard to getting the correct diagnosis and rehabilitation for Sophie. This formed part of a feature report about potential brain injury misdiagnosis at Accident and Emergency (A&E) departments, with the suggestion that there should be qualified neuro specialists at those A&E departments that have 250+ beds.

The news story was broadcast on Channel 4 News on Monday 13th March. You can watch the news report and West Heath House case here presented by Channel 4’s Health and Social Care Correspondent, Victoria Macdonald.
